What does Hating Chocolate have to do with Vampirism?

Approximately 5% of the general public admit in surveys that they despise chocolate. Weird, right? Such a minority of people have differing tastes from the general public. How could anyone not like chocolate?

Perhaps you can't wrap your brain around why someone would hate chocolate in all its sweet, blissful, glory. However, does it make sense that they would also be into drinking human blood? After all, something is broken in their brain to hate chocolate, so that break must also have them craving the irony goodness of blood.

"Wait, Shannon, or Miko, or whatever you want to be called these days, how does hating chocolate mean you're a vampire? Is there proof of this? How are these things remotely related? Have you lost your mind? Are you stupid?"

The Real World Implications

Indeed it would be weird to assume that just because someone despises chocolate they also drink human blood. So, why is it assumed that just because a man wants to wear a dress he's also a paedophile? Such a connection makes about as much sense, and yet, some people insist on this with strong conviction.

Sure, maybe you can't wrap your brain around drag queens, transvestites, and trans-women, perhaps even finding them a bit gross, but how does it connect with paedophilia and child grooming? Why should I assume that a man wearing a traditional woman's dress will rape a child?

I can go into the fact that fashion is arbitrary, that it was considered manly to wear high-heels and kilts are a thing, but you know what, who cares? The very idea that you would want to harm a child because of a choice in how a bit of fabric or hide is presented is just stupid!

A lot of very ignorant people who know nothing of the world outside the four corners of their township are of the opinion that anything associated with LBGT is linked to paedophilia. Such data to back this assertion does not exist, and the connection between many of the aspects that fit under the umbrella of LGBT, like men bumming other men, and sexual abuse of minors is lost on me.

"Yeah, but... I know this dragqueen/trans-woman that is a child molester." Yeah, and I'm sure you can find a chocolate hater who's also a vampire. Your point?

Just because these things are not related doesn't mean they're also mutually exclusive. Yeah, you can find a trans-woman that is also a paedophile, and that does not mean all trans-women are paedophiles!

With that Understanding

If I were to assert that all white cis-men were serial killers, you would dismiss me as a misandristic femi-nazi, even though there have been serial killers who were white cis-men. So, if you're going to tell me that drag stars are child groomers unless you can back that up with some data, I'm going to dismiss you as a transphobic idiot!

In fact, I'll take it a step further: the idea is so dumb that I think it's just a front, for real reasons for the hate might be something the general public won't sympathize with. Like it is an insult to authoritarian patriarchy where how one dresses determines whether they are a man or a woman and therefore how one should be treated, and men cosplaying as women disturb this labelling system?

Ok, I pulled that one out of my butt. I suspect it's more likely that such people don't know how things are connected, and are dumb enough to believe chocolate haters drink human blood. People can, and do, get some funny ideas, and lack the critical thinking skills and general knowledge to know that said ideas are nonsense.

If you genuinely care about children being abused, and aren't just using weird ideas as a front or a scapegoat, then maybe demand more resources go into stopping child trafficking rings? Have people screened who will be dealing with children, like teachers, day-care workers, and priests? Advocate for sex-ed courses intended to give victims the tools and language to tell an adult what is happening? Cuz protesting a drag show won't save a single child.
