Let Me Tell You a Story About a Special Student

Updated: Aug 16

There was a town with all girls and women deep in the desert. Outside of one special case, men and boys are not allowed inside the walls of this place.

Inside this town was an all-girls school, with a classroom where all the students were girls, taught by a woman. The teacher gave her lesson: asking every student, one by one, to read a paragraph out of a book on history.

One student’s voice, while reading the assigned passage, suddenly rose in pitch, then sounded hoarse. The student stopped reading in confusion. The other students turned and stared in equal confusion. Some started laughing. The teacher stood, startled and confused, for she had never seen a student do this before, and didn’t know what it meant.

Several beats passed. With a few bangings on a table and a raised voice, the teacher regained control of her classroom. The lesson ended with no further event. Class over, the teacher approached the student and asked “Are you alright?”

“I think so?” the student replied, “What happened?”

“I… don’t know…” the teacher shrugged her shoulders.

At home, the student asked “Mothers, do you know why that happened?” while explaining the day to them.

“Oh Ganondorf, don’t worry about it,” the one mother said, “It means you’re growing up into a strong, proud, voe. It's perfectly normal.”

“Indeed,” the other one added, “It only happens to voe. It's why their voices are deeper than us vai. You will be able to roar like a lion once you’re chief!”

A trolly, unintentionally funny, image of Ganondorf
