Yo Dreamers
Hide your sons! It's the dreaded update post!
Whispers of the Abyss
Almost finished with the second phase of edits! Right now I am just looking over the manuscript, noting dates and times, just to gauge when things happened. My ASD/ADD brain got so bored trying to read for it that I wrote a Python script that flagged paragraphs with words commonly associated with time (like month names, ordinal numbers, seasons, etc).
All to try to make this easier... and also to avoid editing stuff. Well, it will allow me to more easily build the timetable by only looking at paragraphs that mention the passage of time.
I've also started drawing up some of the symbolic images. The thumbnail art for this post is the symbol of the entity in Whispers of the Abyss - described as tendrils spirling at odd angles from the center weeping blood.
Every other lit work right now is backburnered. Quantum Songstress will go through an editing phase once Whispers of the Abyss is launched. The CoS sequel is about 5000 words away from being done and ready for editing.
Programming Stuff
So, I wrote a couple of Python scripts.
One that takes a text file, flags paragraphs with mentions of time, and outputs this in a PDF as a neat table to peruse.
One for looking at stock dividends, fetching it from an API and scrapping off some site. An update to a script meant to show the best stock-price:dividend ratio.
Continued coding the map editor for Prove Yourself.
All and all, maybe not a lot of writing. Though I found a dataset on missing people in Canada that I want to scrap to answer a couple of questions. I still want to train an AI to play Mario.
Twitch/Youtube
Still playing SMM2. The game is dying, though it still brings in the views. A single 3-hour SMM2 stream brings more money than crypto mining at 17Mh/s.
July will be when I start a playthrough of Ocarina of Time. It's really an interesting game that defined how action-adventure games in 3d were done. Many of the innovations, like lock-on targeting, are still used today.
it's also the first time we see a version of Link that isn't a child. Future Link, commonly known as Adult Link, is canonically 17, and until BOTW (he was 18) and then TOTK (~23) this was the oldest version of the character. His overall look also played a very decisive and critical moment in the sexual awakening of many teens and preteens - I being one of them.
It's also when Zelda started evolving from being a simple damsel in distress to having an active role in the story outside of telepathically saying "Help! Please Help! I am locked in the dungeon of the castle." It also became canon that a human-like person was behind the monster of Ganon. The connection between the three: Link, Zelda, and Ganon, would become a defining narrative point in the franchise.
Ok, enough rambling about LOZ. You really don't want me to go on about it.
I still need to wrap up the Dragon Tour. Also, a few silly bugger stuff I want to do.
And I have a plan to create my own Stream Deck! I will do it, and post how I did it, so you could do it too! Elgato makes some nice stuff, but I ain't dropping $200+ on a panel of buttons!

I really need to write more here. Some of you found me through this... somehow. It also is a means to engage with people, some being future fans. I know I need to write at least one more LBGT post before June ends. I have an idea burning in my mind, but it would just be me babbling about LOZ. Not sure that's the kind of engagement people want from me.
I should also consider another Let Me Tell you a Story... post. That was fun.
I admire your dedication to your crafting and words. You are driven, and I wish I could be a little more like that. I applaud you, Creator Smith.
